Geographe Bay (Busselton to Dunsborough)

Calm, shallow waters – perfect for easy swims and relaxed beach days.

  • Wonnerup Beach: long stretches to explore
  • Broadwater & Abbey: ideal for long walks
  • Marybrook & Siesta Park: permanently off-leash and very peaceful
  • Quindalup Beach: dog-friendly from the boat ramp east

The Capes (Eagle Bay & Yallingup)

More dramatic coastline with turquoise water and incredible views.

  • Eagle Bay: off-leash from the main boat ramp heading north
  • Bunker Bay: dogs allowed at the southern end (away from the resort)
  • Yallingup Beach: northern end dog-friendly (not the main lagoon)
  • Smiths Beach: northern section designated as a dog exercise area
West Coast (Gracetown to Margaret River)

Wild, open surf coast – perfect for long walks and ocean views.

  • Gracetown (Cowaramup Bay): off-leash in the southern section near the creek
  • Kilcarnup Beach: quiet and very dog-friendly (4WD access recommended)
  • Prevelly: dogs welcome along Georgette Beach heading north
  • Gnarabup Back Beach: popular off-leash area with plenty of space

Things to Know Before You Go

  • During summer (Dec-Feb), some beaches require dogs to be on leash between 9am-5pm
  • Always check local signage, as rules can vary by access point
  • Dogs are not allowed inside Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, so stick to beach access areas and marked paths
  • Some areas (like Busselton Jetty precinct) are dog-free zones, but nearby alternatives are always available

If your dog still has energy after the beach, our own farm track – Yellow Stick Road – is one of the most loved parts of the stay.

It’s quiet, surrounded by nature, and perfect for relaxed walks where your dog can explore safely at their own pace. For many guests, it ends up being their dog’s favourite part of the trip.
